Course location-based planning

Schedule Planner, cycle planning, area planning, location based management, Vico Control – dear children have many names. Below you can see the content of our courses and the next event.

Here are many examples of why your industry peers use location-based scheduling.

Course Content

Level 1 – New Users

The method exposes a number of risks that are not visible in a Gantt chart.

  • Are there areas of the construction site with colliding work?
  • Are there empty areas on the construction site?
  • Is there a smooth cast and a good workflow among the workers?

When you have an overview of where the challenges are, you can easily optimize your schedule. You can easily save 10% of the execution time after finding the “holes” in your schedule.

The lesson is a combination of lectures by the teacher and practical exercises. You learn among other things:

  • Application of location-based planning in construction projects
  • Set up new projects in the Schedule Planner standard
  • Set up a schedule with locations
  • Introduction to quantity and resource plans
  • Including analysis of resource consumption in schedules
  • Control progress on construction projects (intro)

Level 2 – Advanced Users

Creating and optimizing a schedule is important. But just as important is that the timetable be followed! Otherwise, the planning work is wasted. The schedule should not just hang passively on the wall – the schedule is dynamic and changeable.

Many of the factors that influence production can not be planned ahead. Therefore, it is important to be able to quickly see how, for example, weather delays or other factors affect production to correct and maintain the overview.

The lesson is a combination of lectures by the teacher and practical exercises. They learn among other things:

  • Tracking the timetable – Production Management
  • Schedule optimization with cast
  • Analysis of risks, resource consumption and cash flow in schedules
  • Progress management in construction projects and presentation/visualization thereof for the client
  • Introduction to:
    • Application of volume and resource driven schedules
    • Import quantity extracts into the Schedule Planner
    • Integration of the financial management of the construction project

Project-Specific Discussion

Teaching based on your current project – where you are right now

1-2 participants

  1. Set up the schedule – from Gantt to Cyclogram (held at your site) 4 hours
  2. Subsequent project discussion (held at your site or online) 2 hours a week for 4 weeks

We recommend having the first lesson day at your place. Thereafter, lessons can be done well over the Internet for 2 hours a week during 4 weeks.

Based on the contents described in levels 1 and 2, you can also implement the method and program it “more actively” based on a current project. We recommend putting the lessons into operation parallel to the start of a new project.

Whether you already have a Gantt schedule for the project that needs to be converted into cyclograms, whether you are starting at the very end of your schedule, or you already know the method and want to learn during the construction phase to work with the progress report and forecasts. Regardless of your starting point, we start the training where you are.

“An excellent course that provided a really good understanding of the many possibilities of the program! Location-based planning will undoubtedly be one of the cornerstones of the next construction sites that I will supervise. I would be very happy to go further into the different possibilities of the program. The possibilities for optimizing projects with Vico are innumerable!”

The process of the individual course is super good because you have the opportunity to get help the moment you need it.
